Do not forget your wedding vehicle decor ...

There are so many moving parts when you start planning your wedding, and you really do not want to forget your wedding vehicle decor. Decorating the bride, groom, and bridal party vehicles is just as important as the boutonnieres and flowers for the bridal party. Besides the beauty and sense of festivity the wedding vehicle decor provides, it also helps to single out the most important vehicles of the event. Simply put, decorations on the wedding party vehicles should be just as beautiful as they are functional.

Think about it.... decorating your wedding vehicles is just as good as a VIP pass. Have you seen how politicians and government officials clear traffic with their sirens and lights? Well, your wedding day is your day to be THE VIP. Your decorated vehicles will open up parking spots and clear the way for you if there is traffic on your way to your wedding/reception venue.

To put your mind at ease with regards to costs, your wedding vehicle decor does not have to be extravagant by any means. Ribbons & Bows, tulle, fresh flowers, artificial flowers and other decorations can be used to beautify the wedding party vehicles. If you are on a budget, signs with "BRIDE", "GROOM" and "JUST MARRIED" accented with tulle can be put on the license plates. If you have a more robust budget, you can have fresh floral arrangements on the hood of the car, and mini bouquets on each door handle. Only your imagination (or your decorator's imagination) will limit the kind of decor you can use on your wedding party vehicles. You can be as elaborate or as simple as you choose... remember - its your day, make your decor a reflection of your personality.

A few things to keep in mind as you consider decorating your wedding day vehicles are safety, functionality and time management.

Safety & Functionality - Ensure your wedding vehicle decor does not hamper the driver's view of the road from all windows (including the rear view glass). Ensure that flowers attached to the handles of the vehicle are not so big that it becomes difficult to pull the door handles (in order to open the door). Also ensure the tulle or fabric used around the doors does not keep the doors from shutting properly. Safety always comes first!!!

Time Management - Ensure your vehicle is available for the decorator with plenty of time to spare. If possible, the wedding vehicles  should be decorated 4-6 hours before the wedding. This probably means you have to plan for your wedding vehicles not to be used to run errands after they have been decorated.

NOTE: If you are using fresh flowers for your wedding day vehicles, your florist should know how to keep the flowers hydrated so they do not wilt during the event.
