When should you give her flowers?

Studies show that most women love flowers, and can typically remember when last they received flowers (The research was conducted in 2005 by The Michael Cohen Group.). Flowers makes women feel special, loved and appreciated. The interesting thing is that the flowers that we give do not necessarily have to be big bouquets, and they do not have to be roses either. As cliche as it may sound, it is the thought the counts. I've heard guys say, 'eh but they are only flowers - and they'll die soon anyways'. Trust me on this one guys, flowers will soften her heart and will most likely make her more receptive to you.


Giving flowers is not exclusively for girlfriends either. Remember to appreciate the women who have made a difference in your life - your mum, wife, sister, aunts, friends (make sure her boyfriend wont mind :)), teachers, and the list goes on. I was chatting with a friend who came to pick up a bouquet of flowers for his girlfriend a couple of weeks ago, and I jokingly said "I hope you intend to keep this up when you get married", he laughed it off and said nothing. For his sake, i hope he keeps it up :). Even though this blog, seems a little skewed towards guys doing the giving, ladies remember that you also have women in your lives who would appreciate a floral gift - mum perhaps? :)

There are many reasons to give flowers, and the best reason to give is when there is no reason at all. Be spontaneous. Let her know she's on your mind and that you care about her. Of course there are other reasons such as mother's day, get well soon, sympathy, valentine's, anniversary, birthday, I'm sorry etc. 

For guys, try sending flowers to a lady at work. The attention she gets from those flowers will (1) totally boost your image with her co-workers. You'll become the cool guy who knows how to treat a woman right (2) get her so much attention at work, she'll be loving you for it.

With all the choices of flowers out there, it may be a little overwhelming for you to decide what kind of flowers to order. This is where you can get the help of your local florist. You don't have to know the names of any of the flowers, you just have to be able to communicate what you would like to express through the flowers, and your florist should be able to recommend the kind of flowers that will meet your need.
