Honoring and appreciating your parents on your wedding day

Honoring and appreciating your parents on your wedding day is one of the most heartfelt gestures that you can do, to show you your parents how much you truly love and appreciate all they have done to bring you to this point. Below are a few tips that your can incorporate into your wedding. Enjoy!

1. During the ceremony, have the officiant mention the names of any deceased parent or grandparent, and how much they influenced and molded you to the individuals you are today.

2. The bride can give a rose to each of the mothers (and grandmothers) with a slight curtsy as soon as she walks down the aisle and before the ceremony begins. It will make them feel special.

3. Another unique way to appreciate your parents, is by including miniature pictures of the parents in the bride's bouquet.

4. Include pictures of parents from both the bride and groom's side in your centerpieces. Write little notes of love under each picture. This will let your guest know how much you love and appreciate your parents, and will also give your parents a sense of pride.

5. The bride can give a brief speech about the groom's parents and how she appreciates all their love and support, and looks forward to being part of the family. The groom can also do the same and appreciate the bride's parent's in a similar way

6. The couple can find out what song each of their parent's danced to at their weddings for their 'first dance', and allow their parents to relive those moments by playing the songs at the reception and inviting their parents have a second 'first dance'.

7. If the couple is planning to have a cocktail hour before the reception starts, they can have fun pictures of their parents one each of the appetizer tables. As guests mingle and chat, the pictures will give them something to admire and talk about.

8. On the day after the wedding, you can honor you parents with a brunch and make your parents the guests of honor. Invite very close friends and family who have history with your families, and will understand the significance of the brunch. Presenting each of your parents with a token gift will also be a nice touch

Hope you enjoyed these tips. If you have a few of your own please feel free to share by leaving a comment below. Cheers!!
