Seriously...How would you pick your Bridesmaids/Maid of Honor without causing drama? For a lot of brides, picking the ladies on their bridal train isn't quite so easy. There's family politics to consider, and there are friends who just assume they'll be on your train because you've know them since forever, or because they invited you to be on their train... yep!

Here are a few tips that may (and i stress 'may') make selecting your bridesmaids a little easier:

1. Bachelorette party - Pick bridesmaids who will make it their mission to throw you the funnest bachelorette party ever! After all, it's the last time you get to celebrate as a single woman. Do not complain that 'no one has your time or cares' if you decide to pick ladies who are too busy or just don't have a clue - that's all on you dear!

2. Family politics - For the sake of peace for years to come after the wedding day, you may want to consider including ladies from both your side of the family and grooms side of the family. It will probably earn you some goodwill that you may need in the years to come.

3. Friends - Nowhere does it say you have to include a girlfriend on your train because you've known each other since secondary school, or because she asked you to be on her train. Pick ladies that you will be comfortable with on your wedding day

4. Temperament - Ok so this is an interesting tip... planning a wedding is not a walk in the park. For the love of God, do not pick ladies who will make it even more stressful - You know, the ones who will tell you all the 101 things that could possibly go wrong or the ones who always add kerosene to fire! For your own peace of mind, selecting ladies who are positively minded and who will allay your fears or frustrations is probably the best way to go!

5. Responsibilities - Besides all the fun and fanfare of getting married, there is a TON of work that needs to be done before and during the wedding: visiting vendors, organizing wedding rehearsals, dress fittings, organizing bombonieres etc  You cannot possible do it all by yourself. This is where your maid of honor comes in.. she should be able to organize most of the tasks on your behalf and get the bridesmaids to work with her. In fact, your maid of honor better have great project management skills, else you'll be stuck doing way more than you should. You need to be able to spread the stress, not take it all on by yourself.

6. Costs - The cost of a wedding can skyrocket very easily if not managed well. So you want to ensure that you have a budget for your bridesmaids gifts. Now, if my math is correct, the more bridesmaids you have, the more you'll spend on their gifts.. so keep the number of bridesmaids within your budget so you don't end up either getting them cheap items, or blowing your budget. Quality over quantity always!

7. Fun - Pick ladies you can have tons of fun with!!! See video below :)

And remember, not everyone needs to be on the bridal train to feel special. There are a lot of other important tasks to organize for the wedding, so you can get ladies who couldn't be on you train to assist you in these areas. Just remember to let them know how much you appreciate their time and assistance.
